any and all qualified individuals.
We encourage all interested individuals
to apply and become active members in the association.

Classification of
Memberships:
A. ACTIVE MEMBER:
Any appointed chief or assistant chief of a governmental law enforcement
agency in Utah, not to include executive officers who are heads of sub-units of
a larger law enforcement agency. Exceptions
to foregoing include the Director of Law Enforcement Service Division of the
Utah Department of Public Safety; the Superintendent of the Utah Highway Patrol;
the Chief of the Brigham Young University Campus Police Department; and other

member.
B. ASSOCIATE MEMBER: Any administrative and/or supervisory officer of a Utah law
enforcement agency whose chief executive officer is an active member of the
Association, and who is sponsored by their chief officer.
Associate members may be voting members only when the chief or appointed

proxy. Associate members may
not hold elected office, but may be appointed by the Governing Board to serve on
committees or to fulfill special assignments.
C.
SUSTAINING MEMBER: Any person who has an interest in participating in activities
of the Association and who supports the objectives of the Association.
Sustaining members are not voting members and may not hold elected office
but may be appointed by the Governing Board to serve on committees or to fulfill
special assignments.
D.
LIFE MEMBER: Any person
formerly an active member no longer serving as a Police Chief who wishes to
maintain the professional and social contacts of membership, upon nomination of
an active member may be voted a life membership by a majority of the Governing
Board. Life Members are not voting
members and may not hold elected office, but may be appointed by the Governing
Board to serve on committees or to fulfill special assignments.
A life membership may be revoked by majority vote of the Governing Board.
Prior to revoking a life membership, the person shall have an opportunity
to appear before the Governing Board upon written request to the President of
the Utah Chiefs of Police Association.
