Committee Opening Announced

With the retirement of Chief Scott Folsom, there is an opening on the DOPL Security Services Licensing Board. The process requires that President Wade Carpenter submit 3 recommendations to the Division’s Executive Director for consideration. From the three,  the executive director will select a person to serve.

All chiefs are eligible for consideration, except those who currently serve as officers of professional associations. I assume that includes current UCOPA Board members.

Appointment will require availability to devote time and attention to the Board. Members must first serve to protect the public interest and will often participate in disciplinary proceedings against members of the profession. As the letter of inquiry states, ” It little serves the profession or the Division if a candidate cannot place behind him the natural tendency to ‘protect’ the professional when the demands of regulation require an appropriate action.” So, you see, this is an important responsibility for our representative.

If you would like to be considered, please submit a letter of interest AND a resume directly to Wade Carpenter ASAP.
